More shoots, Heriot Watt degree show and other great stuff

Well Hey Ho Folks!!

Since the Fashion Awards life has been a blur of leopard print, metallic leather and yet MORE shoots!!

The RTW collection was so disjointed, we shot bits then added bits then shot them THEN we decided to go for ASOS market place and had to reshoot EVERYTHING outdoors, street style -no, no lights!   It feels like it has dragged on and we just can’t wait to get the lookbooks out to ya’ll.  Neil Smillie from Fourtwentyseven Design is working on the books just now so by next week we will have them out and IN YO FAYCE!!  A huge learning curve for us, squeezing in another collection in between seasons is massive but super satisfying.

We were invited to the Heriot Watt Graduate show a few weeks ago and we were totally blown away.   We have been watching Violent Lips for ages, only the Yanks could get them and it was making us ACHE waiting, then POUT! (as always) saved the day VIOLENT LIPS ARE HERE!!!!   Yaaaaassss so we tested them out for the fashion show.

It was so nice going back and seeing old lecturers and having a catch up with them.  The first designer to show was Samantha McEwen with ‘Voodoo Zumbies’.  It was uhmazing.  The models danced down the catwalk in wonderfully bright, boldly clashing outfits, all unisex.  The pieces are achingly cool and oh-so street.  We bumped into Gary Wilson there too, he had just turned up with a model dressed to kill in his clobber.  The photoshoot he recently did with Derrick Argent and Lauren Andrew was exceptional.

We shot the pics for ASOS mrketplace in and around the Barras on a Saturday, the models Lauren Andrew, Rachael Monaghan and Nicole Farrell were true pros when faced with the Barras men.  One guy said “Oh aye, eh?  Just get a couple vodkas in her and have my wiked way”  Pretty sure that’s one of the most disgusterous/creepster/eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew thing I’ve ever heard.   Then another guy went mental all, “YE CANNAE TAKE PICTURES O THE STALLS THERE’S A SIGN”  When I asked him where the sign was he pointed away, I looked and when I looked back to say, “EH THERE”S NO SIGN” (In my best scary weegie voice) he was hiding his face in his hand paahahaaaa.  Gotta love the Barras.

Shoot went sooooo well, Derrick Argent managed to get awesome pics in record time and the girls looked smokin’ in our gear.
